Funeral service for Thelma Irene Hall, 89, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Thelma was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Quanah, Texas, to William A. and Linnie May (Barnett) Buchanan and passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in Enid.
Thelma grew up and attended school in Quanah. On Jan. 5, 1951, she married Ray E. Hall. They made their home in Quanah, later moving to the Texas panhandle and farmed in Spearman, before moving to Perryton. In 1976, she moved to Enid, where she worked 10 years at Greenbrier Nursing Home as a housekeeper, until her retirement. Thelma enjoyed sewing and reading. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; brothers, Jack Buchanan and Bobby Hall; and sister, Linda Lyle.
Thelma is survived by her children, Carolyn Nichols (Bruce) of Enid, Glen Hall (Brenda) of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Carla Broyles (Gordon) of Enid; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Hall of Quanah, Texas, and Bill Hall of Katy, Texas; and sisters, Opal Osburn and Nelda Swatzall, both of Vernon, Texas.
