Emil John “Butch” Hakel passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006, at 7:45 p.m. after a long battle with cancer. He was born to Frank and Mabel Hakel on Sept. 24, 1967, in Enid, OK. In 1968 he moved to Winnie, TX where he graduated from East Chambers High School in 1988. He then moved back to Enid where he resided at the time of his death.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Hakel; sons, Michael and Ricky Hakel of Enid; mother Mabel Barnes of Enid; father Frank Hakel Sr. of Angleton, TX; two sisters Novella Huffman of Lonoke, AR, and Tammy Hammond of Enid; four brothers Frank Hakel Jr. of Enid, Larry Ganthrernx of Winnie, TX, Rocky Robertson of McAlester, OK, Tony Hammond of Fort Supply, OK, and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and close friends, Pastor Marvin and Sue Goodpasture.
He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, four aunts and four uncles.
The funeral service will be held at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, July 28, 2006, at 2 p.m. Pastor Marvin Goodpasture and Pastor Terry Walborn will officiate. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
