July 30, 1960 - April 10, 2018

Funeral services for Rayford Darnell Freeman (affectionally known as Uncle Ra` Ra`) will be Friday, April 20, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Westside Church of God in Christ with Supt. D. L. Norwood officiating. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home with burial in the Enid Cemetery.

Rayford was born July 30, 1960 to Nadine Moore and Henry Lee Freeman Jr. He was the youngest of 11 children. He went home to be with his Lord on April 10, 2018 in an Edmond Hospital after a lengthy illness with family at his bedside. He was baptized and presented to the Lord on June 5, 2016. He played football while attending school in Detroit, MI and at Enid High School. He was a chess player and loved challenging other chess players to a match. His passion was fishing. He introduced and taught most of his nieces and nephews how to fish. He had many fishing buddies. Although he never had children of his own, he was a father figure to many. He worked at the Enid State School for over 16 years until ill health forced him into retirement.

He was preceded in death by both of his maternal and paternal grandparents, and three brothers, Jerome M. Freeman Sr, James R. Anderson Sr, and Terry Freeman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Nadine Johnson; two brothers, Samuel (Dorothy) Johnson of San Diego, CA and Henry (Loretta) Freeman III of Enid; seven sisters, Cassandra Robinson of Oklahoma City, Vera Bradden of Enid, LaDonna (Clarence) Grant of Taylors, SC, Ruby Freeman of Las Vegas, NV, Carlas (Curvin) Tanner of Oklahoma City, Dorothy (Leslie) Hardeman, of Wichita, KS, and Debbie Burk of Enid; a special sister, Karen Holt; a special brother, Stanley Dixon; and a host of other relatives, friends, and church family.

Memorials may be made to Langston University Foundation-James R. Anderson Sr. Endowment.
