ENID — Inturnment service for Ernest E. “Jack” Fine, 88-year-old Enid resident, will be 1 p.m. today, May 2, 2012, in Enid Cemetery. Brother Alvin Dalton will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Jack was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Tillman County, Okla., to J.W. and Bessie (Burt) Fine and died peacefully at his home in Enid on Friday, April 27, 2012. He began picking cotton and migrant farming with his parents at a young age.On June 28, 1947, he married Orpha Holt in Enid, where the couple made their home. He owned and operated a machinist shop for several years until 1952, when the family moved to California.
He retired in 1976, and the couple moved back to Enid, where he drove a truck for a local company before retiring again in 1995.
He is survived by his stepson, Kenneth Jordan and wife Laura of Susanville, Calif.; stepdaughter, Carol Reyes of Enid; eight stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; six stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orpha in July of 1997; his parents; and numerous brothers and sisters.
