Life of Mrs. E.E.Donnelley
Mrs. Elizabeth E. Donnelley, wife of Charles E. Donnelle died at 7:35 Sunday morning, Nov. 23, 1924 at her home, 1006 West Randolph, after an illness of several weeks.
Elizabeth Estella Lake was born near Springfield, Illinois, Feb. 11, 1861. Here she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Joseph Allen Maddox, of Springfield, IL. To this union was born six children.
With her family she moved to Kansas and later homesteaded a place in Oklahoma, 24 miles northwest of Enid, which she owned at the time of her death.
After two years in Oklahoma her husband died leaving her to care for her family alone. This she did courageously facing the problems of pioneer life.
January 7, 1900 she was united in marriage with Charles E. Donnelley. To this union was born one son. She has lived in Lahoma, Helena, and came to Enid in 1918.
She leaves her husband Charles E. Donnelley, 6 children; three sisters, one brother; 23 grandchildren and six great grand children.
