Glynn E. Cox passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Ponca City. He was 86 years old. Glynn was born on June 7, 1931 in Enid, Oklahoma to William and Hazel (Beavers) Cox. On June 5, 1955, Glynn married Phannie "Faye" Stewart in Enid. The couple lived in Enid, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City before settling in Osage County. Glynn was a terminal manager and was a truck driver for Rocket, C & P Transport, ANR Transportation. Glynn was accompanied by his wife when he drove for Head Country Food Products and finally retired in 2013.

Before retirement the couple enjoyed camping, boating, and riding motorcycles.

Glynn was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, his parents, and one brother, Lorraine Cox.

He is survived by his children, Allen Cox of Ponca City and Vickie Clark of Ponca City grandchildren, Chris Hoddy, Justin Hoddy, Austin, Hoddy, Brook Hoddy, Bryce Hoddy, and Audrey Hall and three great-grandsons, Parker Hoddy, Connor Hall and Cameron Hall.

A funeral ceremony to remember Glynn will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sweetman presiding. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Enid Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma. Glynn's family will be available to greet friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home and friends may come by the funeral home from 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Hoddy, Austin Hoddy, Michael Hall, Russell Cox, Brad Alllensworth, and John Allensworth.

Honorary pallbearer: Bill Selby.

Phannie M. “Faye” Cox, 78, died Monday, July 29, 2013, from complications of heart failure. She died in her rural Ponca City home with Glynn, her husband and best friend, as well as her son Allen at her side.

Faye was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Hitchcock to Joseph F. and Phannie Stewart. During her first year, the family moved to Glenwood, Iowa. She attended Glenwood schools, completing the 11th grade, before leaving high school to join the work force. She worked as an office manager for a freight line company. On June 5, 1955, she and Glynn Cox were married in Enid. The couple made their homes in Enid, Tulsa and Oklahoma City before settling in the Osage. Faye continued her work with freight companies and served as bookkeeper for her husband, a terminal manager, and assisted him as he delivered for Rocket, C & P Transport, ANR Transportation and Walmart. Most recently, Faye enjoyed accompanying Glynn as he drove for Head Country Food Products. In 2013, the couple retired from Head Country to enjoy camping, boating and riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed reading, feeding the birds and taking care of the couple’s three dogs.

She is survived by her husband Glynn, of the home, her sisters, Joann Fowler, of Weseca, Minn., and Virginia Newman and Mable Gavlin, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and a brother, Joe Stewart, of Joshua, Texas. She also is survived by her daughter, Victoria Lee Clark and husband Charles, of Ponca City, and her son, Allen Cox, also of Ponca City, as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Evelyn Fouch and Bulah Taylor, and a brother, Jim Stewart.

She will be remembered as a kind Christian woman with a ready smile. She will be missed by many dear friends including Skip and Ronie Kenyon.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Sweetman officiating. Burial will follow at Enid IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Central Oklahoma for the staff’s devoted and gracious care of our wonderful Faye.
