A graveside service for William “Bill” Darrell Clifton, 71, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Enid Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Alvin Dalton will officiate. Full military honors will be presented by Vance Air Force Silver Talon Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born June 5, 1935, in Enid, to Charles Joe King and Anna Birdie Clifton and died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his home in Enid.
He grew up in Enid and served in the Navy for two years. He then joined the Air Force and served more than 19 years, both in Korea and Vietnam. He also was stationed in Japan, Alaska, Denver and Arkansas and then retired from Vance Air Force Base. He worked as an insurance agent for M.F.A. Insurance and was a district supervisor for Rainbow Rex Air. He was a graduate of University of Alaska with a degree in psychology. He was a private pilot and worked as a bush pilot in Alaska. He married Barbara Ann Hutchinson and they made their home in Enid.
Surviving are his wife Barbara, of the home; three daughters, Tayonie Clifton of Abilene, Texas, Tina Clifton of Enid and Teria Ann Frank of Stillwater; one brother, Arthur Parrish of Commerce City, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, two sisters and three brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
