The funeral service for Hazel Burnham, 75, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Dean Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Hazel was born April 27, 1933, in Jet, Okla., to Phil and Elma (Knuckles) Horner and died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid, Okla.
She was a graduate of Hillsdale High School. Hazel married Bonnie Painter Aug. 19, 1951. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1992, at his home. She remained in Enid until her marriage to Robert Lewis Burnham on May 24, 2004, in Jet at a family reunion. They lived in Jet until her death.
She worked for a short time as door greeter for Wal-Mart and then K-mart. Hazel also was a manager for a short time for the Cherokee Terrace Apartments. She was on a bowling league and loved to bowl with her grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Robert, of Jet; sons, Scott Painter and wife Barbara and Martin Painter, all of Enid; a daughter, Debra Baker and husband Red of Yankton, S.D.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Bonnie Painter.
