OBITUARY
Miss Julia Meierjurgen was born in Lemgo, Lippe-Detmold, Germany on July 31, 1871. At the age of fourteen she came to America with her Mother, four brothers and one sister. Her father having died in Germany. The family settled on a farm near South Bend, Neb.
She was united in marriage with William Brakhage on May 30, 1890 . To this union 11 children were born, all of whom are living.
In the fall of 1894 the family moved to Oklahoma, settling on a farm twelve miles West of Waukomis. In 1910 they moved to six miles South of Goltry. While living there Mrs. Brakhage was converted and joined the United Brethern Church.
In the fall of 1918 they moved to 604 South Independence, Enid, where death came to Mrs. Brakhage at 5:30 p.m. July 29, 1922 at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 29 days. Death being caused by heart trouble. Her first trouble of this nature came one year ago.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband William, seven daughters and four sons, namely Mrs. Fred Nehring, Mrs. Charles Webb, Mrs. Albert Decker, Mrs. Harry Stebens , Mary, Katie, John, Herbert, Ferdinand and Leo Brakhage, all of whom attended the funeral. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Louisa Brakhage who is 97 years old, of Elmwood, Neb, four brothers, Henry, Fred, Ferdinand, one sister, Sophia Mullen, who died in 1902. There are 7 living grandaughters and two grandsons. One grand daughter, Julie Marie Nehring having passed away May 25, 1915.
Mrs. Brakhage was a member of the United Brethern Church of Enid.
