A Celebration of Life service for Robert "Bob" Betts, 82, Enid, is 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Awakening the Fire Ministries, 3320 N. Van Buren Enid, with Pastor Jay Drawbridge officiating. Burial follows in the Enid Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family receives friends 7-8 p.m. today, August 29, 2017, at the funeral home.

Bob was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 20, 1935, to Don and Ruth Rae Betts and passed away August 26, 2017 in the Garland Road Nursing Center. He grew up in Odessa, Texas, where he met Shirley in the third grade. Bob married Shirley McCullough Jan. 17, 1958, in Odessa. Bob moved to Ringwood in December 1966. He owned Betts Hot Oil Units for several years, then sold it to Hamm & Phillips. Bob then went to work for his friend Harold Hamm to help grow Continental Resources for the next 34 years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home, daughter Debbie and John Cole, and son, Scott and Melody Betts, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Johnny Paul, and sister Marie Pair.

Memorials may be made to Valir Hospice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

A Celebration of Life service for Shirley Lea McCullough Betts, age 82, of Enid, is 10 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Awakening the Fire Ministries, 3320 N. Van Buren, Enid, with Pastor Jay Drawbridge officiating. Burial follows in the Enid Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Born in Poolville, Texas, on September 27, 1935, to Austin and Clara Robinson McCullough, and died December 31, 2017, in Enid, Oklahoma. She grew up in Odessa Texas, where she met Bob in third grade. Bob married Shirley on January 17, 1958, in Odessa, TX, and he passed away August 26, 2017.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Louis Davis and family of Tyler TX; daughter, Debbie and John Cole; son, Scott and Melody Betts; several grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob, who is waiting for her just beyond the moon, waiting to stroll over heaven together.

Memorials to be made to Ross Health Care, or Awakening the Fire Ministries, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
