Lena Pauline Bethune

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Pauline Bethune, 61, will be at 10 AM today in the Chapel of the Darnall Funeral Home.

Reverend Bob Moorehead will officiate and burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Darnall's.

Mrs. Bethune was born in Choctaw and lived in Tulsa before moving to Enid in 1948.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors are her husband Orby of the home at 819 S. Independence; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Herderick, Libya, Africa; a son, Ronald Bethune of the home; her father, W. C. Cook and a brother, R. L. Cook, both of Sallisaw; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Miller and Mrs. Pauline Collier, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The funeral for Orby Bethune, 80, 1121 E. Garriott, will be at 10 AM Saturday at Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ashley Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

He was born February 27, 1901, in Tennessee and died Wednesday at a local nursing home after a period of ill health.

Bethune had been a longtime resident of Enid and was retired from Rock Island Railroad. He also farmed for a number of years and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was married to Lena Cook. She died in 1969.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Herierick of Grove City, Ohio; and a son, Ronald of Enid.
