William I. Athens, 78, 1310 N. Jackson, died in an Enid hospital Sunday evening.

He came to Enid from Shattuck in 1918 after retiring from farm work. He was engaged in the carpenter trade for many years.

Athens was a member of the Methodist church, is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, William I. Athens of the home, Joseph S. Athens of Wichita, Kansas, and Earl A. Athens of Hawaii; and a brother, Ed, of Ottawa, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of the Brown Funeral Home with Rev. L. V.. Maund in charge. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
