Graveside services for Mrs. Joel M. (Cyrene) Ash, Will Be at 4:30 PM Monday in the Enid Cemetery under the Direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
Dr. Irving L. Smith and Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert will officiate.
Mrs. Ash died Saturday in a local hospital. Her body was cremated.
Born February 9, 1903, in Keosauqua, Iowa, she moved to Enid with her parents in 1920.
Mrs. Morrow married Joel M. Ash, April 22, 1922, in Enid.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the USO, the Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and served on the YWCA board.
She was preceded by an infant son and her husband who died June 1, 1971.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Thom (Virginia) Whitaker, Enid; one son, Edward J. Enid; two sisters, Mrs. I. Morrow, Enid, and Mrs. Dick (Margaret) Morris, Buffalo, New York; several nieces and nephews.
The family has requested memorials be made to the Enid public library. Henninger – Allen Funeral Home and the library will serve as custodians.
The family will be at 716 E. Randolph.
