Funeral services for the Rev. Roy S. Anding, 72, who died Monday morning in a local hospital following a period of ill health, will be at 2 PM Wednesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Vernon Pendleton will officiate and burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
Anding was born in Crowley, Louisiana, January 28, 1909, and attended schools there. He graduated from Acadia Baptist Academy in Church Point, Louisiana. He and Anna E. Patin were married December 31, 1926, in Crowley.
They moved to Abilene, Texas, where he attended Hardin – Simmons University. He was ordained a Baptist minister while still in college and graduated in 1938. Anding held pastorates in Topeka, Kansas, Follett, Texas, and Gage before moving to Enid in 1943, to serve at the Olivet Baptist church.
Anding had owned a plumbing business since the early 1950s but ill health forced his retirement earlier this year. He was a member of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Anna of the home; a daughter, a grandson and a great – grandson, Mrs. Maude Farrant, Joe Farramt and Joey Farrant, all of Enid.
