A Celebration of Life and Going Home Service for Betty Lee Williams Allen, 88, of Enid will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Grace Bible Church, 1502 W. Oxford, Enid with Pastor Steven McClaren officiating. Burial will follow at Enid Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 5:30 PM, to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Betty died Sunday morning, June 26th at Greenbrier Nursing Home suffering several years from Alzheimer's.
She was born July 9, 1927 to O.T. and Francis Towe Williams in Chickasha, OK. Betty grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1945. She married B. J. Dodds on October 16, 1944, making their home in Ponca City, then on a farm in Kildare; OK and later moved to Enid in 1966. Betty later married Howard Eugene.Pollard on September.25, 1982 where they remained soulmates until his death in October, 1992. Betty married again on January 1, 1996 to Edwin Allen of Enid and had another 10 years of happy marriage until Ed’s death in January, 2006. Betty worked 22 years at St. Mary's Hospital as purchasing coordinator, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Enid, a member of the American Business Women's Association for many years, and truly enjoyed playing cards with various groups and lady friends regularly.
She also took great pleasure in traveling including going to Kansas City Royals baseball games. She and her husband, Ed, were members of the Oklahoma Unit WBCCI (Wally Byam Caravan Club) which is an Airstream Club and had fun traveling with the club and spending a few months during the winters in south Texas.
Betty is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one Son, Fred Dodds, husband, Howard Pollard, husband, Ed Allen and step-daughter, Jaemie Pollard Young. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Dodds Loucks and husband, Jim of Enid, son, Tracy Dodds and wife, Joan of Enid, daughter-in-law, Jill Dodds of Claremore, six grandchildren: Lori Duncan and husband, Jamie, Sally Grimes and husband, George, Jean Dodds, Claire Dodds,William Dodds, all of Enid; and Ronnie Loucks of Oklahoma City; 12 step-grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Bible Church Building Fund with Brown-Cummings acting as custodian.
