Enid Cemetery

Richard Eugene Roberts
Sunday, July 31st, 1932 - Wednesday, January 10th, 2024

Funeral services for Richard "Dick" Roberts will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dick was born July 31, 1932, in Enid, to Hugh and Lois (Reynolds) Roberts, and passed away January 10, 2024, in Enid. He went to school in Enid and Adair, Oklahoma, graduating with the Enid High School class of 1950. He met Roberta Jane Brixey in Adair and they married on September 4, 1955, and were married for 54 years before Roberta's death in 2010. They resided in Wichita, Kansas, where both Teresa and David were born.

While in Wichita, Dick worked for Boeing until moving to Oklahoma City to work for Aero Commander and later for CMI. In 1972 the family moved to Enid and he purchased the manufacturing business started by his father, Machinery and Electrical Products Co., and retired in 2009 when the business closed.

Dick loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his dogs, reading, camping, and going to the dog park and farmers market. He was an enthusiastic and often vocal fan of OU football, basketball, and softball. He was also a fan and supporter of Phillips University sports, occasionally hosting players at his home for the holidays. Dick was a master of trivia of all sports, current and past. For many years Dick was very active in the Enid community through the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Enid Cemetery, and the Garfield County Industrial Authority.

Surviving Dick are his daughter, Teri Roberts of Enid; son Dave Roberts and wife Sandy, of Enid; grandsons Jason Heitzman and wife Katie of Mustang and Aaron Moore of Enid; granddaughters Kristi Heitzman of New Orleans and Kelli Roberts and partner Trevor Rodenbur of Oklahoma City; sisters Margaret Day of Enid, Joyce Linderer of Meza, Arizona, and Joanne Berridge and husband Mike of Plano, Texas, as well as nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog Kody.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Roberta Roberts, brothers-in-law Richard Asbell, Joe Day, and Bob Linderer, and his granddaughter Kristi's partner, John Miller.

Condolences to the family, memories shared, and viewing services online at ladusauevans.com.
