Margaret Lowe "Lolly" (Richardson) Simon Submitted by: Jo Aguirre
There will no services for Margaret Lowe "Lolly" (Richardson) Simon. She wasn't big on ceremonial events for herself. Her final resting place will be with her mother, father, and brother, at Enid Cemetery.
Margaret Lowe Richardson was born in Enid Oklahoma on September 28, 1943 to Frank and Celia Richardson and passed away on October 26, 2018 in Georgetown Texas.
In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her brother, David.
Lolly, as she was known by everyone, moved to Corpus Christi in the late 50's and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1961. She attended Oklahoma State University for two years.
She returned to Corpus Christi to be with her mother and got a job working for General Export Iron & Metal Co. She transferred to another company in a group of family-owned steel companies - Phoenix Supply. In a span of eight years, Lolly learned the steel business, working her way up from the clerical staff to the executive staff. That company was purchased and was formed into Integral Steel Inc., where she quickly moved from executive assistant to purchasing agent in two years. She was promoted to vice president of administration and purchasing, as well as corporate secretary. She was in the steel business in Corpus Christi for 40 years, ending her professional career working at Texas Steel Sales.
Lolly moved to Odem in 1980 and lived there until 2004, when she moved to be near son, Troy, and his family, near College Station, TX, Lolly was an avid supporter of anything in which her grandchildren participated, and she thoroughly enjoyed time with them, often traveling on vacations with them, including Hawaii, and multiple trips to Disney World. She was also a huge Texas Aggie fan, going to most of the home games.
In the end, Alzheimer's took ahold of Lolly, taking away her memories, but not the inherent, fun loving person that she was. The last chapter in her life was spent at Tiffin House, in Georgetown, TX.
She is survived by her son, Troy, and his wife, whom she loved like her own daughter, Courtney, and their three children, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Rachel, all of College Station.
