Hugh Dean Richardson was born May 27, 1949, to the parents of Hugh and Wyllelia Richardson in Enid, Oklahoma. Hugh was the third of seven children born to this union. Hugh, affectionately called "Rap" by his friends, received his formal education in Enid Public Schools. Hugh served in the United States Army from March 27, 1969 until October 13, 1971, and returned to Enid after his service.
While in Enid, Hugh Dean was a member of the Super Bowl Brothers social club and helped start the first Enid Juneteenth Celebration at Government Springs Park. Hugh was a long-haul truck driver for many years before moving to Oklahoma City. After getting hurt on the job, Hugh started a lawn care business called Hugh's Full Lawn Service. Hugh did contract work with several companies as well as working with a friend to install carpet. Hugh also served as 'the handy man' for his friends.
On June 10, 1990, Hugh Dean married Wanda Rogers and helped raise her daughter, Chanel Rogers. In May 1991, Hugh and Wanda welcomed their son, Roger Allen Richardson, to the world. After divorce, Hugh continued to be an involved and supportive father to Chanel and Roger. Hugh has made and kept many valuable friends throughout the years. He is cherished for his honesty, friendliness, and willingness to help others.
Hugh D. Richardson entered eternal rest on March 28, 2022, and leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved children, Chanel E. Martin and Roger A. Richardson, sisters Patricia A. Watts, Vivian J. Richardson, Regina L. Hall, and Karol J. Richardson, 4 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Wyllelia Richardson; and two sisters, Eileen Rolland and Pamela Richardson.
