Funeral services for Charles L. Richardson were held January 30, 1923 at the Henninger
Royce Undertaking parlor in Enid. Interment was made in the Enid Cemetery. The Okeene
Masonic Lodge had charge of the funeral. Rev. Gleckler of the Methodist Church conducted
the services.
Charles L. Richardson was born at Sabula, Jackson Co, Iowa, August 27, 1852 and departed
this life January 27, 1923 at Enid Oklahoma at the home of his daughter.
He married Mary Griswold at LaMotte, Iowa on August 18, 1872 and to this union was born
three children, all of whom survive their father. H. O. Richardson of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs.
L. M. Allen of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. G. I. McMichael of Enid, Oklahoma. He also leaves
two brothers, E. T. Richardson of Geddis, South Dakota, D. S. Richardson of Monticello, Iowa,
and one sister, Mrs. Ada McNeil of Preston Iowa.
He moved from Iowa to Cheney Kansas, in 1888 and on to Oklahoma in 1892, settling on a claim
eleven miles southeast of Okeene. He spent the last few years at the home of his daughter in Enid.
