The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Nora L. O'Dea, 81, of Enid, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, in the Enid Cemetery, with Pastor Gary Miller officiating under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Nora was born June 24, 1940, to Clarence and Iona Messenger Hyle in Drummond, Oklahoma, and passed from this life October 19, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Drummond and attended Drummond High School. She married the love of her life Delbert O'Dea July 29, 1956, in Enid, where the couple made their home. She was very active in the Pentecostal Church of God, serving as a Sunday school Teacher for all ages, Song Leader, and Secretary and Treasurer for the church. She also volunteered at Enid Senior Care, reading books to the residents.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting gifts, cooking large meals for family gatherings, and sneaking cookies home from Golden Corral.
She is survived by her children, David O'Dea and Alan Troy O'Dea; grandchildren, Mandi O'Dea, Christina O'Dea Ballard, Patrick DaVault, and Patricia O'Dea; great-grandchildren, Nora Sue, Robert, Angelina, Lizabeth, Astrid, Riona, and Jordan; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert O'Dea, daughter Helen DaVault, grandchild Neal Phillips, great-grandchild Allen Michael Harder, and her parents.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Hospice Circle of Love, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
