April 11, 1950 - May 29, 2022

The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Christeena "Teena" Jones, 72, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday June 3, 2022, in the Enid Cemetery with Pastor Gary Miller officiating under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Teena was born April 11, 1950, to Willis Lorenz in Salem, Oregon, and passed from this life May 29, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in California and Oklahoma.

She was our protector, our caregiver, the one who accepted and loved each of us for who we are and never tried to change anything about us. When she loved you, she loved you deeply and was always there to listen, to laugh, to bring you peace all while never asking for anything in return. In 1969 she married Ernest James Jones. For fifty-three years she loved him dearly, he is the love of her life, she stood by his side through thick and thin.

For fifty-nine years she was my sister, my mom, and my friend.

For fifty-two years she was a mother, protector, teacher, and caregiver to her two wonderful children James Ernest Jones "Jimmy" and Barbie Sue Rich. For over twenty-five years she was a grandmother, one who loved to hear all the stories of things her grandchildren did, she was so proud of all of them.

The joy she always had when she talked about her family, you could feel the pride and couldn't help but smile as she talked. It did not matter whether we were family by blood or by choice, she loved us all.

For many years she worked taking care of others inside and outside of her home. Lord, she could cook and bake! She could make something amazing out of close to nothing at all. The wonderful smell of bread and cinnamon rolls baking has always made me thing of Teena. Her talents as a home maker, dietician, and care giver were beyond compare.

She never complained about the pain. The physical nor emotional pain could bring her down. She kept fighting, she kept forgiving, she would push through everything large and small with a positivity that only the strong hold.

She fought a battle she could not win, she pushed through radiation and chemo with her daughter constantly by her side. We as her children stood by her side watching her husband hold her as she took her last breath, she was finally at peace and able to rest. Her Heavenly house was ready, and her pain was gone.

Although our hearts are broken, we know we will be together again. For now, she is dancing in Heaven.

She is survived by her devoted husband James Jones, of the home, two children, Jimmy and Lisa Jones, of Carmen, OK, and Barbie and Shane Rich, of Enid; one sister, Tracey Lorenz, of Enid; grandchildren, Alexander Crosby, Misty Crosby, and Tyler Rich; one great grandson, Cooper Crosby; and a special niece Shannon Shelite, of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her father Willis Lorenz; grandmother Pearl Salladay; and one sister Aleena Lorenz.

Memorials may be given in her honor to the Stevenson Cancer Society with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
