Marie (Tallent) Jensen
October 15, 1922 - March 28, 2009

Funeral services for Marie T. Jensen will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with Father Steve Samples officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Marie was born in Rosebud, Texas, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Tallent, and died March 28, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center of Enid.

She graduated from high school in Rosebud and then went on to school at St. Thomas University in Houston, Texas. She met her husband Al Jensen in Houston and they later married on June 15, 1954 in Brownwood, Texas.

She worked as a secretary to the CEO of Tennessee Gas Company while living in Texas. In 1956 they moved to Oklahoma. She and Al were owners of Jensen's Music Store for over 40 years.

Marie was on the Enid Speech and Hearing Board, St. Matthew's Alter Guild, and was a supporter of the YWCA. She was also a longtime member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.

She enjoyed OU football, reading, gardening, and her grandsons.

She is survived by her husband, Al; one daughter, Karen Marie Nieb, her son-in-law Doug, and three grandsons, Zach, Jake and Sam all of Boulder, CO.

Her parents, five brothers, and one sister preceded Marie in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of Choice with Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
