Sharon K. Bruno went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 26th at Golden Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was a member of the Anadarko Baptist Church. Sharon had recently celebrated her 80th birthday with family and friends at Burgundy Place. She was born to Joseph P. Crisler and Margaret Page Ball in Enid, Oklahoma on April 4, 1942.
Sharon lived with her father in many Oklahoma communities and went to high school in Anadarko but graduated from US Grant in Oklahoma City in 1960. She went to the Enid Business school and Phillips University. She was briefly married to John Davis. Sharon then met Dewey Bruno and married him after a proposal when she won a $2 bingo pot in 1965, she carried that $2 bill in her wallet until her passing. Sharon was active in the Anadarko high school band as a twirler and clarinet player. She belonged to the Rhythm Rollers Skating Club, Beta Sigma Phi, with her husband Dewey the Pioneer Gunslingers and Moose Lodge 1740 of Enid. Sharon enjoyed many activities with her husband and kids including playing a poker, bingo, trips to the lake, trips to Las Vegas, penny slots at the casino and going to the Enid Speedway. Sharon enjoyed watching her husband, brother-in-law Verlin Smith and family friend Wayne Hamrick race and build cars including "the backwards 89-er".
Sharon worked for St. Mary's Hospital and Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services in Garfield county for 27 years from where she retired.
Sharon was preceded in her passing by her parents, former husband John Davis and husband of 38 years Dewey Bruno, grandson Josh Moore and best friend Shirley Hamrick. Left to lovingly remember Sharon are her brothers David Earl Ball and wife Jody, Joseph Crisler II and wife Millie of Oklahoma, sister Cindy Sanchez of Arizona; children Michelle Davis Ball and husband Mike of Texas, Anthony (Tony) Bruno, Nicole (Nicci) Bruno Whitley, former son-in-law John Turner and former daughter-in-law Amber Walk Bellar of Oklahoma. Sharon was also blessed with seven grandchildren Nicole Hensley of Oregon, Stephanie Hensley and Jonathan Hensley and wife Shannon of Texas, Morgan Bruno of Texas, Kena Bruno of Enid, Jerry Turner and Shelby Turner of Enid, thirteen great grandchildren. She is also blessed to have numerous nieces and nephews who she loved as her own.
Active Pall bearers are nephews Darrell Smith, Sr., Brian Wagner, David Wagner, John Turner, great grandson Cody Weatherall, Will Butler.
Honorary Pall bearers brothers David Earl Ball, Joseph Crisler II, Michael Ball and grandsons Jerry Turner and Jonathan Hensley and nephew Darrell Smith,Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1st from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stittsworth's. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Alan Baker officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Enid Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
