Del Norte Cemetery


Funeral service for Ruby Joesphine Stubbs, 73, of Drummond, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Drummond with Pastor Danny Marney officiating. Burial will follow in Del Norte Cemetery . Visitation will be held until Tuesday morning at the funeral home, then until service time at the church. Service is under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Ruby Joe was born to Gilbert and Clara (Roberts) Staats on Dec. 22, 1935, in Clovis, N.M, and died July 16, 2009.

She attended school in Clovis until eighth grade, when the family moved to Gravette, Ark. She was there until her senior year and graduated in Buffalo, Okla. On May 19, 1958, Ruby married Johnie Stubbs and together moved to Drummond in 1969. In 2007, she moved to Enid Senior Care, and in 2008, moved to Okeene Summit Living Center until her death.

She worked for Drum-mond Schools and Jim Parks Trucking and later Nursing Care in Drummond. She also was a member of Waukomis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnie Stubbs; son, Shon Oliver Stubbs; three brothers; and two sisters.

Ruby Joe is survived by daughter, Retha Kellam and husband, Tom of Royse City, Texas; three sons, Micha Stubbs and wife, Theresa, of Drummond, Zane Stubbs and wife, Jenny, of Clinton, and Van Stubbs of Drummond; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Waukomis Baptist Church or Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland.
