ENID, Okla. — You are invited to celebrate the life of Dale Len Stockwell at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Kenneth Wade of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside service will follow in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond, Okla., under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Dale was born April 16, 1960, in Medicine Lodge, Kan. He lived in Kansas, California, Texas and Oklahoma, where he graduated from Pond Creek High School.
He served in the Navy for four years and later had a successful career in truck-driving coast to coast. He received awards multiple times for having driven over a million miles.
Dale married Deborah Munsey and loved her children from a previous marriage, Melia Yvette Huff and Heath Duane Huff, of Tennessee. Dale and Deborah were blessed with a daughter, (Connie) Rachel Leeann (Stockwell) Ivey, now in Bryson, N.C., who is due to have his granddaughter, Rosalie Faye Ivey in February 2014. Dale and Debbie divorced after seven years of marriage, but he continued to love all the children.
His mother, Karen (Lamb) Stockwell of Enid, Okla.; father, Franklin D. Stockwell of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; brothers, Jeffery Alan Stockwell of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jerry Lee Hopkins of Florida. His children, grandchild, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, in-laws, out-laws and friends will miss him more than words can say.
Dale lived an unconventional life. He always kept his family and friends close, reminding us to take time to appreciate each other and to embrace our inner child. He was always a jokester with a larger-than-life personality, a softer, gentler side and a very generous heart.
Please bring your best “Dale story” and join us as we celebrate his memory. If you cannot attend, please visit the memorial website at Brown-Cummings.com for any memories you would like to share or condolences for the family. Click on Dale’s name to bring up his webpage.
