Kenneth Duane Rodenberg, 89, passed away after a month-long illness on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz. Kenneth was born Aug. 23, 1923, to Ervin and Emma (Seba) Rodenberg of Drummond. He attended bar school and graduated from Drummond High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army Corps during the war and spent 18 months in Guam.

After returning from the service he married Gloria Jean (Gramlich) Rodenberg on Nov. 9, 1946. They made their home in Drummond, where he was a farmer and rancher for over 40 years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Drummond, served on the local Drummond School Board, was a member of the Lions Club, an amateur radio operator and served as a board member at the OT Autry Technical School in Enid, OKla. He retired from farming in 1984, where he and Gloria traveled in a 5th-wheel trailer. They spent over 25 years in the winter Good Life RV Resort in Mesa, Ariz. He recently, in June 2012, moved to Mesa to be near his daughter, Karen.

Ken was an avid golfer, where at the age of 80, made his first hole in one. He loved being on the computer and he loved telling stories and singing songs that would always make people laugh.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, David and wife Mitzi of Drummond, and Jim and wife Beverly of Owasso, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Pat (Gramlich) Lamons of Keller, Texas; and his good life companion for the past seven years, Janis Trieschmann of Maple Valley, Wash. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces and many great-nieces and nephews. Kenneth was proceeded in death by his wife, Gloria; his parents, Ervin and Emma Rodenberg; and two nephews.
