Obituary of EDWIN H. POWELL
After an illness of most two years, Edwin H. Powell died at his home in Drummond, Okla., January 12, 1912. He was born at Greenupsburg, Ky., March 12, 1834. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Welch, September 7, 1862. To this union eight children were born: Mrs. Rosa Stites, Mrs. L.D. Myers, and E.E. Powell of Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. J.S. Waldron of Enid, Okla.; Mrs. Myrtle Doctor of Belleville, Kans.; Mrs. Nellie Barker of Concordia, Kans.; Alonzo Powell of Beever, Okla.; and Blaine Powell of Tulsa, Okla.
Edwin H. Powell has been a resident of Garfield county the past fourteen years and he will be missed not only by the bereaved relatives, but by the entire community as to know him was to like him for he always had a kind word to say to all he met. He had been a member of the Christian church for fifty years and was a faithful follower of his Savior until called home.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday at 2 o'clock conducted by his pastor, Eld. C.A. Burkhart, and the remains were laid to rest in the Del Norte cemetery.
