A Celebration of Life for Jack N. King, 89, Drummond, is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Edmison will officiate. Burial follows in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 10 a.m. to service time on Thursday, June 15, 2017. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, Enid.
Jack was born July 14, 1927, in Salina, Kan., to Francis and Nana Marguerite (Stephens) King, and passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Drummond. Jack served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1945 to 1946. During the Korean War, he served with the Army from 1951 to 1953. Before going into the Army, he married Leona Baugher on Nov. 27, 1950, in Fort Smith, Ark. Following his military service, he and Kenneth Baugher formed Baugher and King Drilling and ran it from 1953 until 1966. He farmed from 1966 until 1988. He worked in the oilfield in the Enid area, until he retired in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandkids' ballgames, fishing, and building things in his shop using his lathe, and creating working miniature models of steam engines and Ft. Worth Cable Tool rigs. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Jack enjoyed life to the fullest, working hard, playing hard, and spending time with his family.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, son Randy King; father-in-law Kenneth Baugher, mother-in-law Mable Baugher, brother-in-law Mick Baugher, and sister-in-law Norma Miller.
He is survived by his wife Leona, of the home in Drummond; three children, son Rick King and wife Becky, of Garnett, Kan.; son Steve King and wife Betty, of Drummond; daughter Jackie Ekman and husband Daryl of Drummond; eleven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorials in Jack's name may be made to the Drummond Fire Department, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

A Celebration of Life for Leona L. King, age 85, of Drummond, is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jim Edmison will officiate, with burial following in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond, OK. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for an hour prior to service time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Leona was born October 11, 1931, in Garnett, Kansas, to Kenneth and Mabel (Benjamin) Baugher, and passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at The Commons in Enid. Leona graduated from Garnett High School and then married Jack N. King on November 27, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She worked at Garnett Church Furniture Factory in Garnett, Kansas. They moved to Minnesota in 1975 where Jack and Leona farmed for several years.
Leona enjoyed all kinds of gardening, flowers as well as vegetables. She was a member of the Viking Flower Club of Minnesota. She loved to decorate her home, inside and out. She had a flower garden decorated with bunnies and bird feeders which drew the birds and squirrels that she enjoyed watching. Leona enjoyed cooking for her family, her fried chicken and red cakes were a couple of her specialties. No one's birthday went unnoticed without a red cake from Leona. She loved decorating her house for all of the holidays, but Christmas was her favorite. Christmas decorations were displayed somewhere in her home, year round. Leona, or "Grandma Pinky" as she was known to her family, treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren most of all.
Leona is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mabel Baugher; her husband Jack N. King; son Randy King; brother Mick Baugher; and sister Norma (Baugher) Miller.
She is survived by three children, son Rick King and wife Becky, of Garnett, KS; son Steve King and wife Betty, of Drummond; daughter Jackie Ekman and husband Daryl, of Drummond; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorials in Leona's name may be made to the Drummond Fire Department with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
