A funeral service for Clara Belle Francis Wilson, age 95, of Enid, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008, at First Assembly of God Church, Enid, with Revs. Dan Barrick and Brad Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home . A visitation for family and friends will be held 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home .
Clara was born to John Wiley and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Howe on February 11, 1913, in Citra, Oklahoma, and died on Friday, October 3, 2008, in Enid.
Clara married Rev. Herley Arlis Wilson on January 14, 1933, in Dexter, New Mexico. She was a pastor's wife for more than 54 years and a mother who took pride in raising seven children. She was an avid reader and being a Republican and knowing who was running for office and what they stood for was important to her. Clara was a member of First Assembly of God Church, a member of the women's ministries, and a nursing home minister for several years.
She is survived by her seven children, John Wilson and wife, Suzanne, of Tulsa, Kenneth Wilson and wife, Melba, of McAlester, Dean Wilson and wife, Janet, of Aubrey, Texas, Wanda Walker and husband, Donald, Wilma Parnell and husband, Rex, Anita Sewell and Kaylene Balzer and husband, Bryan, all of Enid; 32 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and her parents.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Assembly of God missions.
