Graveside funeral services for Jim Frank Stewart, 88, of Nubbin Ridge, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Cowlington Cemetery in Cowlington, Oklahoma with Pastor Randy Craig officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
Jim was born on June 5, 1932 in Stoney Point, Oklahoma to William and Sophia (Voss) Stewart and passed away at his home in Nubbin Ridge, Oklahoma on September 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophia Stewart, two sisters, Ruth Foyil and Ruby Gist, four brothers, Clarence Stewart, Joe Stewart, Hamilton Darneal, and William Darneal. Jim was an Army veteran, member of the U.S. American Legion, and worked at Riverside Furniture in Ft. Smith, Arkansas for many years from which he retired. Jim enjoyed woodworking and gardening but the biggest joy in his life was his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Jo (Bailey) Stewart, three sons, Phillip Stewart and wife Mary, Gordon Stewart, and Jimmy Stewart, three grandchildren, Erin Hale, Kyle Stewart, and Kelcie Cummings, eight great grandchildren, Chance Hale, Alexandra Black, Jaison Black, Jr, Bailey Cummings, Finley Cummings, Rock Stewart, and Thomas Stewart. And Katelyn Stewart, one sister, Dixie Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Viewing will be Monday 9am-7pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jaison Black, Jr, Chance Hale, Matthew Hale, Andrew Cummings, Kyle Stewart, and Rick Robinson.
