December 11, 1941 - November 20, 2018

Memorial service for Roy Scott, 76, Covington, is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at First Baptist Church Covington, with the Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating.

Burial follows in Covington Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Roy was born December 11, 1941, in Hoisington, Kansas, to Ramon and Pauline (Hoskinson) Scott, and passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Enid.

Roy grew up in Hoisington, and graduated from Hoisington High School. He attended Fort Hays College, and then served in the United States Navy.

Roy married Theda (Sue) Arbuckle in Claflin, Kansas, on June 10, 1966, and they made their home in Hoisington. In 1979, they moved to Covington, and then in 1993, to Texas.

Roy worked in the oilfield until he retired in 2008, and they returned to Covington. He was also a volunteer fire fighter in Covington. Roy loved to fish with his brothers.

Roy is survived by his wife Sue of the home; children, Julie Hough (Tory) of Marshall; Kelly Matteson (Aaron) of Sublette, Kansas; and Trudi Brezovsky (Brian) of Midland, Texas; nine grandchildren, Coltan, Tricia and Billy Franke, Riley, Regan and Camry Matteson, Laine and Tyler Counts and Allison Brezovsky; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace Franke; brothers, Jack Scott (Joann); William Scott (Etta); Dean Scott (Donna); and Kent Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gloria Ann, and infant son James Ray.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 190, or the Covington Fire Department, through Anderson-Burris.
