Thomas 'Tom' E. Pursley
COVINGTON — Funeral for Tom Pursley, 85, of Covington will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Covington Christian Church. Burial in Covington Cemetery. Arrangements by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Thomas was born June 5, 1927, to Thomas and Jean Vance Pursley and died Friday, August 24, 2012.
Thomas married Shirellene Cline June 5, 1947.
Surviving are wife Shirellene, of the home; daughters Cathy (Mark) List, Sioux Falls, S.D., Marla (Cliff) Treat, Covington, Wash., and Jana (Jeff) Schminke, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Sean, Brett, Heather, Tyler, Erin, Jason, Jennifer, Jonathon, Kristen, Heath; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Spencer and Brook.
Funeral services for Thomas “Tom” E. Pursley age 85 of Covington will be 11 am Tuesday at the Covington Christian Church with Rev’s Connie Schlarb and Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Thomas was born June 5, 1927 in Covington to Thomas E. and Jean Vance Pursley and passed away early Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was raised in Covington where he attended and graduated from high school in 1945. Thomas married Shirellene Cline on June 5, 1947 in Perry and they recently celebrated 65 years together.
Thomas worked for Champlin Refinery for 33 years retiring in 1984. He enjoyed refinishing antiques, especially antiques trunks. He loved to gardening and reading.
He attended the Covington Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Shirellene of the home, three daughters, Cathy List and husband Mark in Sioux Falls, SD, Marla and husband Cliff Treat of Covington, Washington, and Jana and husband Jeff Schminke of OKC, grandchildren: Sean Treat, Brett and Heather Treat, Tyler and Erin Treat, Jason, Jennifer, and Jonathon List, Kristen and Heath Hedges, great grandchildren Hailey, Spencer, and Brook Treat.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas in 1935 and his mother Jean in 1952.
Memorials may be made to Covington Christian Church, Covington Senior Center, or Covington Fire Dept. with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
