Billie was born Jan. 14, 1928, to H.C. "Bill" True and Lydia Mae (Spoon) True, in Chickasha. She passed Saturday morning, May 20, 2017, at Holiday Heights Nursing Facility in Norman. Billie grew up on a farm in Grady County and graduated from Dibble High School. She married Milton Peacock in 1946. They made their home on a farm near Alex and raised three children. In 1977, they moved to Covington, to be closer to their children. They were married 55 years, until Milton's passing in April 2001. Billie retired from K-Mart and later volunteered as a foster grandparent for fourteen years. She volunteered over 11,000 hours, working with small children at Covington Douglas School. She was known by everyone as Grandma Billie. She placed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized Sept. 10, 2000, at Covington First Baptist Church. She served there, until she moved to her daughters in Norman in 2014.
She is survived by three children: Brenda Dresser and husband Jon of Norman, Mike Peacock and wife Pam of Covington, and Dale Peacock and wife Carolyn of Covington. She is also survived by a brother, Roy True of Chickasha, two sisters, Gayla Coffey of Norman, and Novella Perry of Des Moines, Wash., and nine nieces and nephews. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen Clark, Christopher Dresser, Joshua Dresser, Mark Anderson, Cody Peacock, and Ali Bolz; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covington First Baptist Kids Quest Children's Ministry with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
