COVINGTON - Memorial service for Maidee Spencer LeForce, 93, of Covington, will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at First Christian Church, Covington, with Pastor Connie Schlarb officiating. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Maidee was born Jan. 13, 1920, to Eugene and Maude Spencer in Love County near Marietta, Okla. Our precious mother, and ?Honey? to her grandchildren, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Enid.
She graduated from Marietta High School, then attended Oklahoma State University (formerly Oklahoma A&M) where she met and married Leroy LeForce. She received her bachelor?s degree from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha.
Maidee worked for the Soil Conservation Service and was postmaster in Chickasha. She taught school in Lawton and Salem, Ore.
She was a member of First Christian churches of Chickasha, Marietta, where she served as an elder, and Covington.
Maidee loved to garden, fish and most especially go cowboy dancing with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; parents; brothers, Charles and Leroy Spencer; sister, Maggie Bassel; and two grandsons, Cory LeForce and Jeremy Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Gennie Johnson and husband Bob; a son, Spencer LeForce and wife Sharmin; granddaughters, Brook Johnson, Stacy VanSyoc, Melissa Tuck and husband Tony, Rachel Burns and husband Paul; grandsons, Brent Johnson and wife Tyfanna, and Wesley LeForce; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Covington or Tri-County Senior Center in Covington, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of funds.
