Covington – Mrs. William C. (Ruth) Kirk, 93, a long time resident of Covington, died Monday morning at an Enid nursing home.
The body will lie in state in the Chapel of the Fossett Funeral Home until 1030 Wednesday morning and at the Christian Church in Covington from 11 until service time. The casket will not be opened at the close of the service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday at the Christian Church in Covington with Rev. Lloyd Lambert and Rev. Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Fossett Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons, Myrl S. Kirk, Enid and Lyle W. Kirk, Pennsville, New Jersey; five daughters, Mrs. J. L. (Winnie) Branen, Marshall, Miss Daisy Kirk, Enid, Mrs. W. B. (Edith) Snyder, Covington, Mrs. V. V. (Edrie) Branen, Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Robert (Jenne) Clausing, Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Leslie Fairfield, Axtell, Kansas; one sister, Edith Wheat, Kansas City, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 33 great – grandchildren and one great – great – grandchild.

William Clyde Kirk, 93, retired Covington farmer, died Saturday evening in a local hospital. He had been in failing health since Christmas.
Born May 2, 1877, near Morrill in Brown County, Kansas, he received his schooling there. He married Ruth Fairfield in 1900 at Seneca, Kansas. In January, 1901, he moved to Waukomis, and in 1904 he moved to a farm between Fairmont and Douglas. He went to Rogers County in 1937, returning to make his home in Covington in 1963.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Covington Christian Church with Rev. Lloyd Lambert and Rev. Jim Hudson officiating. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of the Fossett Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 10 AM Tuesday and at the church from 11 AM until service time. The casket will not be opened following the service.
His survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; two sons, Myrl S., Enid, and Lyle W., Pennsville, New Jersey; five daughters, Mrs. J. L. (Winnie) Branen, Marshall, Daisy Kirk, Enid, Mrs. W. B. (Edith) Snyder, Covington, Mrs. V. V. (Edrie) Branen, Spavinaw, and Mrs. Robert (Jennie) Clausing, Seminole; two brothers, Harry, Molalla, Oregon, and Jess R. Whittier, California; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Nicodemus, Long Beach, California, and Mrs. C. F. Aspacht, San Clemente, California; 16 grandchildren and 27 great – grandchildren.
