Covington – Mrs. Mary B. Hoy, 88, died late Friday morning in an Enid hospital after a long illness.
Her funeral services will be at 2 PM Monday in the United Methodist Church, Covington, with Rev. Don Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Garber.
Mrs. Hoy was born in Bern, Switzerland, on December 29, 1882, and came to the United States with her parents at the age of six weeks, settling at Marysville, Kansas. She came to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, settling on a farm two miles north and one west of Covington.
She and Richard E. Hoy were married March 17, 1906, and made their home three miles north and one east of Covington, living there until 1912 when they moved to Covington where she had lived since.
Her survivors are three daughters, Mrs. D. E. (Elva) Hunter and Mrs. B. E. (Emma) Swalm, both of Covington, and Mrs. G. G. (Etta Mae) Aulick, Springfield, Missouri; two sons, Fred R., Alva, and Wallace H., Stewart, Nevada; one sister, Mrs. George Strackel, Fairmont; 20 grandchildren, 29 great – grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Fund, with the funeral home as custodian of the fund.
