The funeral for Edgar A. Culbertson, 81, of Lucien, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Covington. The Rev. Paulette Albright will officiate. Burial will be in Cov-ington Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
He was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Covington to James Garfield and Alice Leontine De Neef Culbertson and died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
He was a Navy veteran, serving with Acron Unit 52 from 1943 to 1946, and holding the rank of seaman first class.
He received the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pa-cific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Cam-paign Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal.
He married Juanita B. Clement April 1, 1951, in Garber. She died July 27, 1997.
He was a farmer, rancher and oil field worker and was a member of Covington United Methodist Church and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda S. Fischer and Lori A. Collier, both of Covington; one brother, James Marsh Culbertson of McHenry, Ill.; three sisters, Jean Golliver of Enid, Lois McDonough of Owasso and Faye Golliver of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Juanita, he was preceded in death by one son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077, to Covington United Methodist Church Building Fund or Tri-County Senior Citizens.
