The funeral for George H. Canady , 78, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dan O'Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Cemetery. Family visitation will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Erick to James Floyd and Faye Ethel Thalls Canady and died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at his home.

He grew up in Sayre and served in the Army.

He married Virginia "Cisi" Bateman Aug. 31, 1973, in Woodward. They made their home in Enid. He was a horse trainer, independent car dealer, poker player and gambler. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Cisi, of the home; two sons, Ron Canady of Oklahoma City and Lyn Canady of Perry; four daughters, GiGi Clark, Carolynn Frye and and Gina Bush, all of Enid, and Mona Bibbee of Waukomis; four sisters, Judith, Mary, Cookie and Ruby, all of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and two grandchildren.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Virginia "Cisi" Canady, 76, Enid, is 1 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial follows in Covington Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is 6-7 p.m. Thursday evening, June 22, 2017, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Cisi was born to James Andrew and Coral Nell (Snyder) Bateman, Oct. 4, 1940, in Enid, and passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, in Enid. Cisi grew up in Garber. She married Elzner "Bob" Yates in 1958. They made their home in Enid, and had three children. She later married George H. Canady in 1974, and they raised their five children Lyn, Carolynn, Mona, Gina and Gigi together. On Nov. 5, 1986, she received her cosmetology license, and she owned her own beauty shop for several years.

Cisi is survived by her children Carolynn Frye (Bob), Gina Bush (Roland), of Enid, Gigi Moore, of Fairview, and Lyn Canady (Wanda Kay) of Perry; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Mirisa, Kaylynne, Mark, Matthew, Andrew, Hayleigh, Cobe, Harley, and Samuel; five great-grandchildren, Bradan, Jordan, Aubrianna, Everett, and Jax; sisters, JoAnn Best, Martha Fisher, both of Enid; and Sharon Miller (Alan) of Garber; and her brother Paul Wayne Bateman (Betty) of Garber.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter Mona, and grandson Mark.
