Patty Ruth (Powell) Walter
March 14, 1938 - November 29, 2023
Funeral services for Patty Ruth Walter, 85, Covington resident, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the First Baptist Church of Covington with Pastor Tommy Donaldson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Covington Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with the family present will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 4th at Stittsworth's.
Patty was born on March 14, 1938 in Covington, the daughter of Alfred Powell and Delore Irene Divert Powell, and passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023 in Enid. She was raised in Covington, attending the Covington School System. Patty married Charles Edward Walter, Sr. in Enid on her birthday, March 14, 1955.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington. Patty loved to paint, read, spending time with her grandchildren, she went through the whole bible once a year. Patty and Charles traveled to several destinations.
Survivors, daughter, Tarri Hawkins of Garber, daughter, Sharri and husband Lloyd Staples of Covington; grandchildren, Chuck and wife Martha Walter, Andrew Staples, Nikki and husband Cuco Nava, Shianna and husband Cole Glenn, Travis and wife Kellie Hawkins; 20 great-grandchildren,; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Patty was preceded in passing by her parents, husband Charles, Sr. and son Eddie, Jr.
