Ansil "Dutch" Melvin Kimmell
February 12, 1931 - October 26, 2021
Funeral service for Ansil "Dutch" Kimmell, 90 of Covington, will be Friday, October 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm in United Methodist Church, Covington. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Ansil "Dutch" Kimmell was born north Covington on his family farm on February 12, 1931 and died on October 26, 2021 in Enid. After graduating Covington High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Opal Spillman Kimmell. Dutch and Opal raised three children while farming wheat, raising cattle and goats and roughnecking oil rigs in Garfield County. Dutch enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. His greatest joys in life have been watching all the grandkids and a few of the great grandkids play ball games.
Dutch was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Katy; son, Melvin; four brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Opal; children, Linda and husband David Ross of Broken Arrow, Darryl and wife Mara Jo Kimmell of Pond Creek, daughter-in-law, Cathy Kimmell of Covington; 9 grandkids and 17 great grandkids.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Garber Fire Department and Ambulance Service. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
