Graveside Services for Gay Casteel will be 10:00am, Friday, October 21, 2022 at Covington Cemetery with Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Cremation arrangements and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Gay was born January 20, 1935 in Covington to Marvin and Hallie (Gage) Branen and passed away October 14, 2022. After graduating from High School she married Merle Casteel in 1954. She loved to play basketball, fishing and playing dominoes. Gay enjoyed sewing and helped cook for the harvest crew many times. She enjoyed nature and the outdoors. Gay spent the last nine years with her friend Lawrence Mack. She was very devoted to and loved her family very much. Friends and family came to her often for her fair-minded advice.

Gay is survived by her daughter, Cindy Blair and husband Howard; granddaughters, Tricia Wedman, and Lacey King and husband Kenny; four great grandchildren; sister, Marva Lang; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merle Casteel and sister, Marcelyn McGuar.
