A private family burial will precede the service at Collett Cemetery near Fairmont with Rev. Gordan Jantz officiating. Service is under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Joe was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Enid, Okla., to Arthur and Edna (Krippes) Lang and died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He attended Pioneer schools and graduated with the class of 1959.
On Nov. 13, 1960, he married Jovita Traynor at the Church of Christ in Enid. They made their home on the farm in Fairmont, where they farmed and raised cattle for 52 years.
Farming was Joe's passion. He was a no-till farmer and loved to have the latest equipment. He served on the board of the COOP and could be found visiting and drinking coffee there. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting, watching his cattle graze for hours, but mostly spending time with his family. He loved the land and was a truthful steward.
He is survived by his wife, Jovita of the home; son, Tim Lang and wife Cindy of Enid; mother, Edna Lang of Enid; two grandchildren, Katy Lang of Wichita, Kan., and Michael Lang of Oklahoma City; one sister, Patty Blaser and husband Jim of Garber; one brother, Bill Lang and wife Rita of Fairmont; one uncle, George Lang of Enid; brother-in-law, Terry Traynor of Enid; sister-in-law, Pat Traynor of Claremont, Calif.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also, two faithful friends, Isidoro and Lynn Rojo of Fairmont.
He was preceded in death by his father, Art, and an infant sister, Betty.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Collett Cemetery Association.
