Mass of Christian Burial for John A. Shimanek, 53, will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 27, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hennessey, officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
John was born in Enid on October 15, 1965, to Jim and Phyllis Brown Shimanek and died Thursday November 22, 2018, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid.
John farmed and custom-farmed in the Hennessey area all his life. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He is survived by one son, Justin Shimanek, and his parents, Jim and Phyllis Shimanek, all of Hennessey; special companion Gina Mirkes; two sisters, Laura Shimanek of Prague, Linne Shimanek of Michigan; two grandchildren, Paityn Wanzer and Case Shimanek.
John was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the charity of donor's choice with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
