The graveside service for Jerome Moore, 82 year-old Enid resident will be Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery. Chaplain Jeff Jackson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born November 5, 1924, in Canton, OK to Guy Moore and Clara Goodman Moore and died Friday morning at Sterling House in Enid.
He attended local schools in Canton and then went to work for the Frisco Railroad at 17. He worked with the railroad until his retirement almost 50 years later.
He loved to tend his garden and always had a beautiful vegetable garden every year.
He is survived by seven nieces, Susan Moore, Sarah Hamm, Sandy Savage, Gertrude Rhodes, Clara Marie Brazier, Christiana Cowherd, and Teri Cox; five nephews, Paul Cowherd, James Cowherd, Tony Cox, Nicholas Cox, and Jamie Jr. Cowherd; a sister-in-law, Sue Moore of Enid and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Troy and Doyle Moore, and two sisters, Harvesta Cowherd and Theresa Cox.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.
