Funeral service for Gary McBride, 80 of Waukomis will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Gary was born July 23, 1940, in Watonga, Okla., to Roy and Harriett (Boyle) McBride, and passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at his home in Waukomis.
Gary lived in Shamrock, Texas, and they moved to Carpenter, Okla., and in 1955 they moved to Enid where he attended and graduated from Enid High School. Gary attended Okmulgee Tech and served in the National Guard six years. In 1965 he began working at GEFCO as a draftsman. He also worked for Champlin Petroleum in 1967 as a draftsman and advanced to electrical tech. In 1980 he began working for Sun Oil Company as electrical tech. Gary married Sharen Rus on Sept. 30, 1967, in Enid. Gary loved his pugs Poncho, Hop Sing, Gunner, Toby and his new addition Boomer. He also enjoyed going to the lake, boating and water skiing.
Gary is survived by his wife Sharen of the home; his brother and sister-in-law John and Ann Rus of Waukomis.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
