The funeral for Kathleen Iven, 96, will be at 10 AM Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. James J. Mickus will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
She was born September 17, 1897, in Portland, Oregon, to Thomas and Mary Cusack Malone and died Tuesday, March 15, 1994, in the Saxton Care Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. She had moved at an early age with her parents to the Enid area in a covered wagon. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1916.
On October 27, 1920, she married Theodore Henry Iven. They first lived in Enid before moving to Medford, Oregon. Following retirement in 1961, they returned to Enid. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1988.
Surviving are three sons, T. Robert Iven of St. Joseph and L. Neil and Richard E. Iven, both of Portland, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, December 18, 1976, one sister, two brothers and one granddaughter.
