Mass of Christian Burial for Carlene Wurth Gerten, age 95, will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at St. Francix Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Ratterman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Carlene was born November 17, 1910, in Morrilton, Arkansas to Carl and Mary Hamblin Wurth and passed away November 20, 2005, in Oklahoma City.
She married John Joseph Gerten on February 22, 1938, in Anthon, OK. She was the cafeteria manager at St. Joseph's School for twenty-four years until her retirement. She lived most of her life in Enid until moving to Oklahoma City in 1982. She was a resident of St. Ann's Nursing Home in Oklahoma City for the past two years.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son Nick Gerten and wife Doris of Yukon; daughter Carolyn Collins and husband Jerry of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Doug Gerten and wife Julie and their son Garrett, Mindy Gerten, Cindy Ramsey and husband Mark and their children Alex and Ben, and Karen Laubach and husband Mike and their son Justin; brother Bill Wurth and wife Clara of Enid; and sister, Margaret Richard of Washington; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph, five brothers, and one sister.
