Mass of Christian burial for Leo Paul Conrady will be noon Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, with the Revs. Rajesh Mankena and Marvin Leven officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. A rosary will be 7 p.m. today, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.
Leo was born in Wakita, Okla., on June 29, 1932, to Frank and Catherine (Schmitz) Conrady and passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, in Enid, Okla.
He attended Eagle county school near Wakita before moving to Enid, where he went to St. Joe’s and graduated from Memorial High School in 1950, after which he attended Enid Business College.
Leo married Connie Lou Hill in Enid on Sept. 6, 1952.
He served in the U.S. Army 5th Armored Division during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard in 1955.
He worked for J.W. Hill Electric until 1973, when he and his brother Phil bought the business and started Conrady Electric Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 1997, after which he did repairs on lamps and small appliances.
Leo was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church and was a head usher and a Eucharistic minister for many years. He was a past member and chairman of St. Frances Parish Board and a member of the Calvary Cemetery Board. He was also a past member and chairman of the Enid Electric Contractors Association.
Leo was an avid NASCAR fan, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. being his favorite drivers. He also loved watching OU, OSU and the Dallas Cowboys football teams. In recent years he enjoyed OKC Thunder basketball.
Leo is survived by his wife, Connie of the home; son, Mark (Billie Jo) Conrady of Enid; daughters, Pam (Earl) Unruh of Hillsdale, Okla., Elisa (Jeff) Roth of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bridget Napoli of Enid; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Richard Conrady of Oklahoma City and Lawrence Conrady of Enid; sisters, Mary (Bill) Amerine of Arvada, Colo., Rose Raker of Arvada, Colo., Rita (Dave) Buck, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Renee Sinaird and Cathy Scaling of Enid; aunts, Geneva Drouhard and Delores Schmitz of Coldwell, Kan.; uncle, Don (Dorothy) Schmitz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Conrady; and brothers, Frank Jr., Phillip, Dennis and Gary Conrady.
Memorials may be made to Our Dailey Bread with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodian of the funds.
