Graveside memorial service for Mary Ellen Haselwander will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Enid, with Reverend Mark Mason officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mary Ellen passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on March 27, 1932, to Frank and Marie Mitchell. One of seven children, she enjoyed a life of love, fun and music.
She married Henry L. Haselwander on May 4, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, in Enid, where she was a lifelong member. They had three children, Dena, Curtis and Kim. The couple was stationed in Kansas, Oklahoma, Germany and Oregon, returning to Enid, Oklahoma, after Henry's retirement from the Air Force in 1969.
Mary worked for Roger's Supply Company for 20 years, retiring in 1995. She loved to dance, taking part in many dance recitals over the years. She especially enjoyed her time as a member of Classy Cloggers, where she made many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie; son, Curtis Wayne; husband, Henry "Bud" Louis; brothers, Boyd and Kelly Mitchell; sisters, Peggy Stratton, Lorraine Dolan and Ora Lee Kruse.
Mary Ellen is survived by daughters Dena and Kim Haselwander; grandson, Conner Heimbach; brother Michael Mitchell and wife, Lynda; and many much-loved nieces.
We love you mom and miss you. We're glad you're home now with Dad and Curt, once again enjoying the music of Grandpa, Grandma and the Berlines.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to OMRF-Alzheimer's division through Anderson-Burris. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
