Walter Winters
April 23, 1934 - October 20, 2024

Funeral Services for Walter Oliver Winters, age 90, of Enid, will be 10:00 am Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Breckinridge, with Pastor Travis Orr officiating, with burial following at Breckinridge Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 6-7 pm; services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Walter was born on April 23, 1934 in Lebanon, NH to Charles and Josephine Winter, and passed away October 20, 2024 in Enid. Walter married Wanda Faye Lyle and they had two sons from this marriage, Walter O. Winter Jr., and Delbert Winters. He had three other children that he adopted, Michael, Barbara, and Antoinette Winters. Walter married Gerri Morris in Enid, on March 14, 2016, in Enid; and were married until her passing, in March of 2022.

Walter served in the United States Air Force in the Korean conflict, then he went to ranch in California; later in life, he sold his ranch and moved to Texas. In Texas, Walter had a small ranch, outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While in Texas, he also worked at Camper World, Walter was a long-haul trucker for many years, and traveled all over the United States. He enjoyed playing the steel guitar, and played several times with his friend, Mickey Gilley.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Delbert. He is survived by his children; Walter Jr., and wife Debbie, of Fort Worth TX, Barbara of Manhattan NY, Michael of Wyoming, Antoinette, and husband Russ Wells, of Sparks NV; step-children, Tracy and Kay Morris of Breckinridge, Debbie and husband Bill Poteat of Enid, Eddie Morris of Enid, Mary, and husband Byron Hobson of Lahoma, and Rick, and wife Denise Morris, of Breckinridge; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Walter's name may be made to Immanual Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
